  1. NO NO NO!
Do it properly and only do it once, much less work and much less money.

  2. Its gives me nightmares! Bur, i reckon a full engine and strip down & rebuild will be 3k . It's beyond my ability and simply dont have that sort of budget. The engine has only done 8k and was a race built by Casoli with lightened balance crank and remap etc. It had belts and service every 2 years, so as long as no moisture in there I will have to jet wash the outside and rattle can it back to silver. I'll send it to a dealer to get them to pull the cams and check all the followers. New belts, re-shimmed, oil, filter etc. Ill do a new fuel pump, injectors cleaned, throttle bodies blasted. It should be fine on such a low mileage engine. Fingers crossed anyway. Not perfect I totally agree

  3. Mark, if you are intent on using 999 forks you won't find new ones cheaper than these at £245 a pair pair front forks showa 749 999 from year 2003 to 2006 new genuine | eBay however not sure how much importing them will be. I have separately bought a new set of 748S/996 TiN Showa forks, 748S and 999 Showa rear shocks from these people and they all arrived from Italy in just 3 days, they are as described NOS but may have very slight imperfections, they are far cheaper than refurbished ones. However those purchases were before Brexit

  4. Thanks pal. I'll check these out.

  5. Ive a set of Showa forks for sale for a 748. Not sure if they are 40mm or 65mm brake sets. I bought them for my 748 but then decided to go with Ohlins. There is no Corrosion on the forks I bought them to replace my badly corroded 748 ones. I'm looking to recoup my loss so looking for e300 plus postage. Jon

  6. Hi Jon do you have a picture of caliper mounts. Would be good to see first

  7. Hi Marky, I'll get pics up of them tomorrow. I am having a clear out ;) I also meant to add I am in the Republic of Ireland (my profile states London but I moved to ROI a couple of years ago).

  8. Second dibs please, I'm in Fishguard, where abouts are you in Ireland?

  9. Hi Ivor I am in Dublin, picked the forks up from Italy to replace my ones and have another set I am going to use instead but looking for the 56mm bottom yoke now. The forks have no marks on them I am just looking to recover costs I'll get them down from storage tomorrow and send pics on.

  10. Apologies for the delay in getting these across forks were in storage whilst I was getting work. 65mm Brake settings. there is one mark on one of the outers and forkseals are perfect on both. Forks are very clean practically new bought from DGarage a couple of year back used for e400 and were never put on my bike. I am looking for 300

  11. Hi, slightly gutted as I found a pair in Italy and already purchased for eu500 (they arrived this week and also in really good condition). These forks are so hard to find in good condition so you will shift these easily. Let me know if you have any other bits. I need stator cover, side stand, clips, nuts, bolts, chain slider, rear hugger, brake disc, throttle bodies, brake calipers, levers, all sorts!!! tks mark
