Xdiavel Rear Wheel

  1. Hi all, probably been asked before but, do I have to remove the rear wheel on my xdiavel in order to unbolt the caliper so I can bleed it, or can the wheel remain in place?

  2. IME, wheel off. Andy

  3. ok, thanks for replying, is that a your preference or a necessity , I don't have the tools to remove the wheel, but I do to remove the caliper?

  4. IME of bleeding rear brake, I take the whole assembly off to bleed.

  5. I looked after my girlfriends 1st Generation Diavel for 11 years and IME, I have neither the flexibility, smallness of hands and fingers or the patience to even contemplate trying to remove the rear caliper without removing the wheel first. I’m sure if I categorically stated you can’t do it, someone would deliberately set out to prove me wrong. IMO, investing in a socket, torque wrench and impact driver is in your interest. Certainly in the UK, the potential for damaging the wheel getting a tyre fitter to change tyres, is much higher than taking a loose wheel to get the job done. Andy

  6. ok, thanks, Looks like a need a higher scale torque wrench then.....

  7. Don’t undo it with a torque wrench, you’ll wreck the wrench, use a breaker bar, a very long one.
