  2. Well, what do you think of it?

  3. So far. It was worth the wait. Tips in and holds its line easier than the V4s i had for a while. Looks amazing!!

  4. I borrowed a V4 Sport for the TT and that is the biggest difference I noticed.

A great bike, no doubt, but direction changes are harder, especially at higher speeds.

In the defence of the 19" front wheel, I'd say the confidence you get on initial turn in is very impressive.

  5. :upyeah::upyeah:
And how did Mrs T find it? Plenty of my mileage is also 2 up.

  6. Mrs T was very happy on the back. She does have her own GSXR 750 L2 but her riding has been restricted as she is suffering with arthritis in her thumbs so getting summat that was good for 2 up was a must. I have had a MS for about the last 8 years so knew it would be the one for us.

I also borrowed / Bought a V4S just for my 2 weeks at the TT. Really enjoyed the bike. PP is certainly better IMO

  9. Excuse me for being lost, a trip through the Alps with my wife and the previous preparations have kept me absent.

I already have 7500 km on the bike. The bike is without a doubt fantastic.

In the sporting theme, of course, it offers what is expected, but in the tourist field, to go as a duo, the motorcycle has pleasantly surprised me. It's a great touring bike! at the level of other RTs that I had.

Going down the Furka pass (just in this turn) and crossing the Julier Pass, I found the only 2 V4PP I saw on the whole trip....

I’m struggling to find fault with this bike. It’s about perfect!

  11. Hope everyone is enjoying their PPs.

I noticed this thread has started to fall down the page quite considerably and wondered if it's because:
    • Those of you with PPs are just getting on and enjoying the bike
    • Those of us waiting for delivery are still..............waiting with nothing to report
My bike was due to be delivered this month (July) and, having called my dealer yesterday, he said it isn't going to happen but the computer hasn't been updated and no-one in Ducati can tell him anything. He's currently waiting on 40+ bikes! I ordered at the beginning of November 21 and the summer of 22 just keeps ticking on by.

The main frustration for me is the piss poor communications by Ducati. It verges on arrogance which I've only really ever seen from certain ('high end') car manufacturers.

I am due to get home from work overseas next month and will call in to see my dealer and discuss the way ahead. I want the PP but won't be strung along by Ducati for much longer. I have the money to spend but it's not burning a hole in my pocket so walking away is a genuine option. Obviously someone else will step up to the plate if I do as demand is so great but it won't last forever. Alas, I suspect Ducati don't/won't give a proverbial.

  12. I think the World supply markets are just too unpredictable to make any firm delivery dates for many things.

the days of wanting today and having tomorrow are gone for the foreseeable future.

  13. I feel your pain in the wait as the summer ticks away like you say
If it’s any conciliation I got mine earlier this year, and I absolutely love it, coming up for 2000 miles now and it just gets better and better, got a few days trip around Wales next week and can’t wait
Although don’t think I’ve got to many miles left out of the rear tyre..Must be enjoying it to much!!
I hope you get some communication from Ducati soon, and your wait is not to long

  14. Yep, no argument here and I think you're right.

I've always been happy to wait my turn etc and, when things aren't going as planned, I like to keep it all in perspective because that's life. However, don't treat me with disinterest or like a gullible ejit (which is how it's beginning to feel) by just ending all communication and leaving both me and the dealer in the dark. If you can't make or deliver the bloody thing and don't know when you will be able to, just say so. I know, dream on..............;)

  15. Perhaps this dreadful lead time and then failure to deliver on time can be narrowed down a little.
I ordered the new all white V4s with spoked wheels in July, it was built last week, due to be in UK in two weeks time, pdi’d and on the road 1st week September.
    So why ??

  16. As you can see, I'm not currently minded to make excuses for Ducati. That said, we all know that one of the major components which differs between the V4S and the PP is the suspension. So, it is entirely possible that Ducati are being held up by the supplier (in this case Ohlins) but, and this is my issue, no-one has a clue what is causing the delays because Ducati are not communicating. They just keep moving the delivery date to the next month or so when they can be bothered. It's just poor customer service and, if we let it, the new normal.

I actually feel for the dealers in all this as they're the ones that have to deal with people like me lol.

  17. Nearly 4000 miles on mine now, so I’m obviously enjoying it!

There are massive delays from Akrapovic, so that may be where the issue lies, as the PP comes with the Akra as standard. I have also heard rumours that Ohlins have quite a long backlog of orders.

  18. My experience buying the V4 was different to the other two Multis I’ve had.

I’m thinking about changing my car at the moment, budget between 70 to 75k.

There’s some similarities between the two. Dealers don’t seem quite as interested as they did 3 years ago.

The guy at BMW cars, with 30 years in the industry, told me he took no pleasure in the fact they can currently sell everything they make and negotiation was a thing of the past

He reckoned it was only a matter of time before the industry ‘tanked’ and dealers would be begging for business because production would run behind demand.

Either way, it always nice to feel good when you’re spending a lot of money, doesn’t cost the dealer a penny more.

  19. And I feel the pain of all those ‘expectant’ PP owners. My patience was really starting to wear thin.

If I hadn’t spent a few quid on extras (evotech, carbon etc), I might just have cancelled. I’m very glad I didn’t.

It’s one hell of a motorbike.

  20. Perhaps it is Ohlins, though the range used is only mid-level and typical fitment on numerous other manufactures bikes.
Can’t see it being Akrapovic as the PP only comes with a silencer, not the full system and it’s the same one fitted to the V4s with the performance pack.

    Don’t shoot the messenger:-
Talking exhausts, a close friend who is directly involved with policing traffic tells me that a major crackdown on loud exhausts has started, blame the idiots in cars if you want, but “decat” = type approval failure for the road and could become eventually an issue when tested through courts, that knowingly taking a vehicle onto the highway that is not roadworthy due to intentional changes to its design and compliance (roadworthy basically translates to would pass an MOT) could result in further prosecution for riding without insurance. Same with reg plates………You can see where this is going.
Europe, particularly Austria, Lichtenstein & Switzerland have already started fining noisy motorcycles. France has a major program of installing new and replacing older speed cameras with additional noise monitoring for automatic fines.
