  5. Have I started a "discussion" on exhaust noise?
Anyway I knew white was the best colour.....
And is that a Touratech "comfort" seat and is it any good (apart from being rare as rocking horse shit at the moment)....?

  6. Hmmm, an interesting fetish? o_O

  7. Yes… my arse is much happier sitting on the TT seat. Wouldn’t go back to standard ever!
I know of a comfort seat for sale. Pm me and I’ll pass on details. It’s as new.

  8. Agree, the TT comfort seats, I bought pillion version based on my experience with the improvement with the rider one, are far better than the original. Instead of having smarting arse cheeks by the first fuel stop and almost instant regret getting onto the bike in the morning on multi day trips I'm happy to ride daily for two weeks and get off at the end of the day feeling good.

Admittedly after a 400 mile motorway dash back from Scotland to Gloucestershire, cutting a trip short, due to a poorly dog last year there was some minor discomfort. But for my regular touring riding days of a couple of hundred miles, 300+ on first and last day with something like half of that autoroute, the Touratech seat is a night and day improvement.

The later, and current, Ducati comfort seat I'm not so sure about, this is the official one for the 1260 (but will fit the 1200 too), the Ducati Performance Touratech one was made for the 1200DVT but also fits the 1260 and, I believe, the V2 and is the one to get if you can.

  9. That does look good, not the regular 1200 Termi by the looks of things. Surely straight though system is louder than stock? 'Obnoxiously loud' is obviously a subjective thing.

  10. Another +1 for the comfort seat.

A 3D mesh "cool cover" is nice for long journeys in hot climes too. Adds a bit of extra comfort still as you get a breeze and no sweaty bum.

White is definitely the best colour [after grey], I agree!

Multis are great, so flexible and very fun to ride. Stick 'em in Sport mode and they're [almost] a sportsbike, stick 'em in Touring and they're supple and accomodating... 50+mpg on a tour, 180+miles of range and you'll get off them ready to do it all again tomorrow. Mega!

I'll not get drawn into the exhaust debate, mine has the flapper fully working and a Termi end can. It makes a nice noise and isn't intrusive on a tour. Most of mines noise comes from the induction side, with a very pleasing "whaaaarp" when opened up and gulping air.

    Enjoy your Multi! :D

  11.
  12. Looks good...

  13. Does it make much difference to the seat height? I'm waiting for the seat spacers for mine which will be good for legroom and still be sensible...

  14. I’m 5’8” and a smidge. I use seat risers as it opens my knees out a bit more than on low setting. The TT seat helps flatten the seat height very slightly so should assist if you’re vertically challenged.!

  15. OK cool. I'm actually 5' 10.5" so height not a problem. This bike is lower with the seat in the higher position (and lighter) than the KTM I had before.

  16. I'm 6' with 33" in-seam. I can flat-foot, just, with the seat in the raised position on the Touratech seat. The TT seat is flatter than the original, a gripper material, so no more sliding into the tank. Slightly slimmer towards the front if memory serves too so in fact it makes reaching the ground just a little easier.

Aside from lining their pockets with sales of accessories I'm bewildered so to why Ducati designed and manufacture a premium sports touring bike with such an awful seat.

  17. Yes it does make a difference to the height , the foam is thicker.
The geometry of the seat compared to standard is minimal , it didn’t remove the pushing forward for me.
From a personal perspective I didn’t like the hardness or the density of the foam and didn’t get on with it on a 2.5k mile trip
It’s definitely not the same spec as standard
Personally I would look at getting a seat reshaped if it pushes you forward onto your nuts.
I’m back On a standard seat now and bar risers.
My next trip will include an air hawk and the seat ona low setting.
I just take it off for the twisties.

Happy new bike by the way

  18. Greetings

Congrats on your new bike whatever you decide about the exhaust!
