Discussion in 'Tyres' started by Poucher, Aug 3, 2022.

  1. Hi guys,
I’m after a set of Michelin road 6 s for my tour bike and the best pair price I’ve seen so far is £300 supplied so I can fit them, bearing in mind how much tyres and everything seems to have shot up,..anyone seen a better price for 120/70 x 17 and 190/50 x 17. Ta muchly :upyeah:

  2. Bite their arm off. (a) they have a pair in stock and (b) that’s a good price. Andy

  3. I agree, Demon Tweaks are £333 and FWR £342. £300 is a great price, once you've secured yours at that price let us all know where.

Road5s (120/70 17 + 190/55 17) are £295 a set at Demon Tweaks, another £45 for the Road6s. The extra life isn't likely to be 15% more in real terms which is why I went with the former a few months ago. Still a great tyre that I've been using for quite a few years. Will probably need a new set once I'm back from Corsica at the end of September.

  4. £370 for a pair of R6 in 120/70 17 & 190/55 17 :astonished:

  5. I’ve had a pair of Metzeler Track day Slicks on order for 2 months and they are due in the UK about now. I have no idea how much they’ll cost but the Pirelli Superbike slicks for the V4 broke through the £400 barrier last year. Andy

  6. Just to follow up on this, M&P delivered the tyres today so that’s a good quick turnaround, I suppose from all the above comments I should be happy at £300 per set, but I seem to remember that’s a good 40-50 quid more expensive than the last set I got, oh well

Prices these days eh?..just going off at a total tangent for a moment …..
I was in a car accessory shop the other day getting some gear for the motor and I spotted the car air freshener display…
They had some of those “ Jelly-belly” ones,.. I quite like the bubble gum smell one, makes the car smell beautiful,…for about a week, £3:20 the last one I got, being a tight Northerner I don’t buy them that often.
Then I clocked the prices on the new ones ….
I said to the guy, are those prices correct or have they been labelled wrongly ..no they were correct…..

£7:38 ffs :astonished::astonished::astonished: !! Good luck selling those I said to him, just crazy?
