Welcome James. As Ducbird has said, I am an IAM Road Smart Observer who mentors riders in the IAM advanced rider course. I’m sure that there will be an IAM RS or ROSPA affiliated bike club (both organisations offer a very similar product) near you and although there is a perception of fuddy duddy GS riders ruling the roost (sadly there are some crusty observers out there) the sole objective is to improve your riding and raise your confidence. I hope you enjoy your new acquisition and don’t discourage your wife, bikes are for girls too Andy
@Android853sp thanks Andy, will look into local options. I'd be over the moon if wife had a go.... Knowing her, she'd be vastly superior to me and the leathers would look a LOT better on her
Glad you like it James. Take your time getting used to it, they are a bit mental especially when you haven’t been on a bike for so long. As for passengers, the seat unit is a 10 minute swap over but the rear seat is tiny and quite high up. If it’s anything like my wife she looked like something from a horror film when she last came out on my bike. Her face was covered in mascara where she had cried and screamed all the way home. She kept hitting me and I thought she meant to go faster, apparently not ! I wasn’t popular for a while and she hasn’t been back on.
My wife said once when we had kids that was it, happy days ,I knocked out 2 just in case she changed her mind
