Silverstone Moto Gp

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Red899, Jul 4, 2022.

  1. Just 40,000 there.

  2. It's August holiday times so perhaps folks had to choose that or the other this year with tight finances.

  3. No Rossi and no Marquez must have an impact.

  4. Moto2 was awesome well done JD although looks like most the 40k had gone after the GP race?

  5. superb mate, sorry :D

  6. awesome... can only hope next years all three classes as as exciting because its in the diary

  7. and about £80 for a ticket before you’ve parked and got a grandstand, which you have to have to see anything apart from two small grass areas, oh… and then there is the fact you are a mile away from the circuit.

I went on Friday as it was a stag do, struggled with lack of decent pa anywhere, and terrible views

  8. It's the busiest I've seen. Andy

  9. There's no restriction on access to the open stands on Friday and Saturday. Given the utter shit commentary, be thankful the PA is terrible :joy: Andy

  10. blessing in disguise tbh , I didn’t realise I’d have to endure “Gav” all day

he did manage to make the entire three stands in woodcote groan at the same time during the m3 race though (with his shit commentators curses) which made me guffaw quite a bit

  11. Slightly different view coming in to the circuit today. Makes you realise how bloody huge and flat it is, lots of walking :sob:

  12. I heard the start finish is going to be in a different place next year presumably the f1 location but anyone know the reason?

  13. When the wing was first built I'm pretty sure Motogp used those pits and then reverted to the old pits the year after. Not sure why.

  15. Scuttle butt in conversation last night, the F1 Wing paddock couldn't accomodate the MotoGP circus. If that is the case, guess they've added footprint to the Wing paddock. Andy

  16. Few comments from yesterday now ive had a chance to think about it….

Silverstone is still an over priced shithole with largely terrible views and guidance while youre there – for fuck sake put some “Luffield >>>> Stow <<<<<” signs up ffs. Lose count how many times I get flipped around walking about that place lol

Its far far too fucking expensive for a “normal” family day out now. Especially with the economy heading south at a very rapid rate.

£110 to sit in Woodcote (+ Parking if you took your car)

£14 for a ear piece to listen to the comms properly

£10 for the same programme as every year (with updated rider teams and numbers)

    £7/pint

    £4 coca cola

    Etc…

The BRDC is a complete tory fest and that’s likely why there were only 40k there – fk me you must need a grand to stay there all weekend.

Helicopter travel is incredible and I want one.

Scott Oggy was great in moto3 and it was also lovely seeing josh watleys reaction finishing his home GP, so close to top 20.

See also Rory Skinner beating SDK – what a buzz that must have been for him.

Loved seeing Miller get a podium, would have loved it even more if Maverick had won.

Dixon was the highlight of the whole weekend. Lovely boy.

  17. Blimey wouldnt have expected the bikes to take up more room than the cages.

  18. I took my own water etc and the lads took some beers, but I bought a portion of chips with some pulled pork on for me and my mate and they were £12 each...

The highlight of the day for me was actually the 996SPS for sale at Baines... Beautiful that is...
