Got the call from my dealer yesterday my PP is ready for collection on Tuesday after a long 8 month wait, only made bearable thanks to the daily updates on this thread. Based on the feedback it looks like I won’t be disappointed!
Is there any value in waiting for a 72 registration on 1st September? im not sure how the book value changes but it’s go to be something over £500 every reg change ?
Agree. The trade may use this as a value excuse, but if ever sold privately and any nerd spending the used price of a PP would look further than the reg. Even the trade (Ducati for Ducati) would likely not make a lesser offer for the month prior to change.
To be fair, I think the question is more 'will it affect value', to which the answer would usually be, yes ( a little), buit everyone is desperate to get their bike following beyond daft wait times.
When spending north of £25k on a bike, any potential drop in value due to whether the bike was registered a week before or after a new reg will be irrelevant compared to the depreciation the minute you ride it out of the showroom.
That isn’t how it works. It’s the date the bike is registered that he is asking about. And yes it does make a difference when trading in.
I've always had a plate on mine, when it came to selling the 1260, I was surprised (but shouldn't have been) that it got a 68 plate. I bought it in January 2019, so it obviously makes sense. I don't know why they don't just go with the year on Jan 1 and stick with it.
Based on the question presented, the source of any losses are relevant and it is not exclusive to those over twenty five large. A loss is a loss. Are others bothered - that is another debate.
Just off the phone with the dealership and it appears the delay on PP delivery is down to a shortage of Ohlins parts. He was telling me it’s also affecting the Bayliss tribute bike as well.
Saw my 1st PPV4 on the road today. Fully luggaged, two up and went past Seaways Café around 11am. Anyone from ‘ere?
Those levers are beautiful. Who makes them? I do find the stock ones a bit of a large reach even when brought in as far as they'll go
They’re from Conquest Racing. Ordered Sunday, delivered this morning. Will be fitted tomorrow when my hangover subsides. At the races tonight….
