Maintenance For Brembo P4 34/34

  1. I would like to refurbish my brembo p4 34/34 calipers

From what I see on different forums, many people clean them and only change the seals, I have never seen a change of pistons on p4 34/34.
By consulting the Brembo catalogue, there is no set of seals or pistons for these calipers ( right 20785021 left 20785011) despite some changing the seals - surprising.

Looking in england there is a powerhouse company that makes gasket and piston kits for p4 34/34.
Could someone tell me how a dealer can offer a reconditioning kit for a brembo caliper when brembo does not offer one.
The p4 34/34 20785021 and 20785011 is found on a 998 R for example, and Ducati would not offer spare parts for such a model!
What to do if one of the pistons of a caliper is damaged, it is necessary to change the 2 calipers, for lack of spare parts?

Have any of you already ordered a renovation kit for p4 34/34 calipers from power house, are you happy with it?
    thank you

I wouldn’t change 2 calipers, one would do the trick….

  3. I bought some seals of powerhouse recently. I also had them re-coat the caliper bodies. They did a good job. To be honest it would have been not much more expensive for them to do the whole job. I think they wanted about £160 for a complete refurb of 2 Brembo goldline calipers. Parts and paint cost me 120 so not much saved.

  4. I’ve seen this loads of times from lots of different people, that Brembo don’t supply service kits and nor do Ducati. Each time the suggestion has been to go to one of the other bike manufacturers, KTM or Aprillia rings a bell, and lo and behold the parts, genuine Brembo, can be ordered through them. I’m sure someone will be along soon who will confirm which manufacturer it is.

  5. I overhauled the Brembo's on my '92 851 using spares bought from KTM. The kit's came with new pistons and seals.

  6. I never had a problem obtaining seals, pistons, crush washers & nipple rubber caps, but never got them from Brembo or Ducati. I even did the Hel lines with a race set up on this one via https://www.lightenupgrade.co.uk/
I like to have a good look inside and blow air down the fluid channels.
Doing these proper old school callipers on the MHR right now.
