2010 900ss Service Question

  1. Is that good ??? !!

  2. It is a 900 sport. Slight down-spec of the SS. Typically it will have a steel swingarm instead of aluminium, and non- adjustable front forks. Nothing that can’t be swapped out easily if the mood takes you.
Lots of these were registered a long time after they were made. Look at a few of the dozens of date stamps all over it to get a balanced view of its actual D.O.B.
My 2007 reg Sport was made in 2002.

  4. The belt paranoia is big here, Bought 3 Ducatis last year, all of them with belts aging from 5 to 10 years.
Inspected all 6 of them, belts looked pristine without any cracks. replaced them myself anyway for a fresh start, it's a Ducati and the cost is negliable, A belt will not snap all of a sudden, there has to be severe wear and tear before it breaks. So me being curious I put the old belts to the test with a 5 tonnes jack and a pretty sharp edge on the lifting part.. guess what? None of the belts budged, the jack just blocked any further lifting. So if the belt looks ok it is ok, and won't break for the next couple of thousand miles ,just my to cents

  5. Until a few weeks ago I'd have been hitting the green 'Agree' button, but not now.

  6. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong according to mr. Murphy.
My crank sensor gave up after 120K miles, got a brand new one that gave up after 3k miles...
Could have happened with a brand new belt also.
Sorry to hear that but, shit happens.

And if you really want to know about the problems of a certain bike type.. subscribe to a forum.. not only Ducati's , any make/model. I've been riding BMW's for 35 years, before Internet forums , once you subscribe.. you lose trust in the make, because of the amount of problems shown, I realised there are hundreds of thousands happy owners not subscribed to any forum without any problems. ;-)

  7.
  8. Again, many thanks for the feedback. I’ve got it booked in with Richie at Moto R in Ruthin next week. He’s collecting it so no need to worry. (Good reviews about the place too) seriously can’t wait to start riding it
