V4 Pikes Peak

  1. Looks amazing and something I have done on any vehicle.

I think he should have pushed it in the workshop though, not rode it - was 12 yards FFS :D

  2. Was in Ducati Glasgow today and they has 8 new multistrada's ( 4 pikespeak's) and all of them had the tank covers misaligned . Had I visited the store before I went to the trouble of adjusting mine; I'd probably would have left it. Although they did commend me on a job well done. The link from the North American dealer may be more appropriate due the the hotter weather.

  4. Think it’s 280 Nm

  5. The 1260 models with SSSA are documented at 230nm for the rear wheel nut. 280 sounds high!

  6. Twin Swing Arm - 180NM I believe

  7. That seems high I’m tending to lean towards 230 nm but I can’t find the actual figure anywhere,

  8. I have seen 180nm for a double sided swing arm I would have thought it would be higher for a single.

  13. Has anyone had any oil usage on their PP? I had none to start with, but as the miles have worn on (current at almost 4000), I'm noticing oil usage. Nothing huge, but definitely something. I just hope it doesn't keep increasing with miles (my 1260 seemed to, up to a point)

  14. 4000 miles on mine now and it hasn't used a drop.

  15. I already have 10.000 km and it has barely dropped 2 mm from the maximum since the 1,000 km review. This week I will recharge oil to see how much volume those 2 mm are to see how much it has spent.

  16. Just over 5k in and zero oil usage so far, making a nice change not to have to carry a ltr of oil on tours, I'd better not let on though, she'll think there's room for another pair of shoes

  17. Hmm, thanks everyone. Wonder what's going on with mine then. It's not crazy usage, kinda like my 1260, but it started off from new not using any at all

  18. Just get your dealer to log it so if in the unlikely event it becomes an issue they will be aware of it and during servicing should pay more attention to the level when they wipe the Ducati branded oily rag over it. Other rags are available.

  19. Just back from a 3000 mile round trip from Glasgow to Barcelona . (V4s) . It has now done 7000 miles and I had to put in 2 fifths of a litre of oil and top up the coolant which was just above the low mark. The temp in Spain was on some days 32c and the final leg home from Dijon to Glasgow was done in one day (800 miles and 16 hours) The bike behaved faultlessly. First time driving in the dark and the cornering light on the motorway were amazing.

  20. How do you top up coolant? The manual tells you to take it to the dealer! I can't see an easy way of getting to the overflow bottle.
