  2. Hi, yes seen that one, and not for me that one.

  3. Why's that as the mileage's very low and the condition looks superb.

  4. After comparing 'sold' prices it is priced too high as all their bikes have been. It's nudging 998R prices

  5. Well you probably know that i've lucky enough to have both models sitting under their winter dustsheets at the minute, but i'm very aware that others have hundreds of bikes in their own personal collections, i personally think there's only a couple of thousand pounds between the two machines in my opinion.
The 998r is around the £30 / 31k mark and perhaps the 996r £28 / 29k mark, both different models are listed at the minute but haven't sold as yet.

  6. The fastlane 9998R is an import and after being stung by buying an import previously (because you can't check out the history like you can in the UK and USA) I now steer clear of them.

  7. Oh i didn't know that as i just look at the pictures these days, :D...question old son, what do you think as a Ducati forum member the correct prices are for a UK 998r / 966r.

  8. Protwins fairly recently sold a mint UK 998r for £30k with sub 2,000 miles.....and I think a sub 2,000 mile 996R would be £23k to £25k max. However, the market is definitely cooling and bikes are sticking which is a clear sign that if people want to sell they will have to be sensible and reduce their prices. If you bought pre covid that will be fine but the prices rocketed after then and there will be some losses if people want to get the cashback in and reinvest.

  9. Yes i'd see that listed and was very tempted myself, but how many bikes can you ride at once i keep telling myself, lol
Personally i think your predicted £23/25k mark is a little low for that model regardless of the current marketplace, people that appreciate this brand and in particular the R models will purchase in todays market as their personal clock's ticking away, i wouldn't sell mine for anything less than £27/28k with 10k on speedometer.

  10. I can never get my head around this kind of comment. Like only US and UK keep track of their vehicles history and the rest of the world doesn’t…

I believe it would be more accurate (and honest) to say that it is more difficult to understand foreign (non English speaking?) systems which induces a significant risk when buying abroad. That, I could definitely agree with. ;)

  11. So you are assuming I can't understand foreign languages nor have the intelligence to get them interpreted? The fact remains that the vehicle checking facility in some countries is definitely not as accurate/sophisticated as it is in the UK or the USA for example.

  12. I am not assuming anything, my good Sir. You are. Assuming what you don’t understand or like is less accurate or sophisticated than what you do.

  14. Just to remind folks that yours had 17,000 miles on speedometer, it's about mileage, condition and low owners that'll command top money in my opinion.

  15. Yup and I got just under 22. Was in near mint nick and 1 previous owner.

  16. The condition and low ownership yes great:upyeah:, but not that mileage for the collector.:worried:

  17. The exhaust cans are Termignoni but in Titanium, which's the better material in my opinion, unburnt petrol in a carbon can will destroy them in time.
The stand & the cover are not a problem really in my opinion, as i made this mistake with a Carl Fogarty Rep that was up 4 sale in 2014 which didn't include them.............a huge mistake on my part for rejecting it on those grounds.!

  18. Well, that one on eBay from RX Motors that's missing the extras is spoken for, by me :D

I'm buying it 100% based on its originality, condition, and mileage. The fact it is missing the extras does indeed suck, but that's life. I wasn't going to let that stop me from finally buying my all-time dream bike given its other merits.

Next year I'll start the search for all of the missing items. I beat the guy up a bit about the other exhaust missing and he insisted the owner didn't have them. What are ya gonna do. He says the toolkit is under the seat at least.
