1098 clutch plates

  1. Hi, all I've bought a used 1098 alloy clutch basket & centre drum to convert my 998 on to alloy plates ect but... Am I best using 1098 plates or would 999 ones be any better/ different ? As they all seem to be advertised as different part numbers . My engine is more 999 than 1098 so not sure really.

  2. The plates are the same size/shape. It's just the thickness. My 1098 has a 916/996/999 etc slipper with 1098 plates, springs and collars. As long as the stack height is the same as what it should be for that clutch it'll be fine. Just took some initial working out for mine and make sure you have the steel and friction where they should be at the beginning and end.
