@Macca It's not so much the brand that's important but the class or type. I asked for Pirelli only because I know the classes well enough. In the Dunlops what about the Trailmax Mission vs Mutants for 50 /50 riding?
If your dirt roads are just various stone dressings and not delving into lots of mud then I think the mutants would be fine. They have quite a deep tread block for a tyre that's aimed at the road. Maybe the Metzler Tourance would be an alternative, I didn't see a 17" front option for the trailmax.
