As the track season starts for me in the next few months, my thoughts are turning (no pun intended) to how to improve the rear turn in on my 1200 Multistrada track bike. It was glacially slow with a 200/60 Pirelli Supercorsa SC fitted, then hugely improved with 190/55 Metzeler Racetec RR fitted but I’m wondering if a 180/60 might be a further (small) improvement. I already have a 190/55 Metzeler TD slick and a 190/55 Racetec RR sorted for the first 4 day outing so I’m thinking of trying a 180/60 Pirelli Superbike slick or 180/60 Supercorsa SC next. In theory, the taller profile could sharpen the tip in but not sure about a 180/60 on a 6” rim. As I’m looking at splashing on some new to me lightweight wheels, I’d appreciate thoughts on whether a 5.5” rim would be better suited if the 180/60 is going to be the way forward. TIA Andy
After a conversation this morning whilst collecting the Monster, the answer is yes. Makes sense so that’ll be my next tyre purchase. @El Toro or @Ducbird, Terry or Viv, no point in keeping this thread open now I have a strategy . Thanks, Andy
