is this the one where he nearly falls off the stage? - agree, totally mesmerising. I couldn't believe he could put that together so well on first hearing and it still stands out on the vid despite the level of quality also present on the stage. Wonder if the guitar got caught?
I visit a mate every week to play cards and have a beer. We play this on his projector almost every week to remind how amazing it is ON the near-fall - I think he's playing to the crowd and has a security guard ready to catch him. If you watch on a decent size screen it can look as though the guitar flies over Georges son (who's very hard to recognise ) and lands on the floor, but I think that might just be the shadow. For any guitar fans who haven't seen this give it a watch.
this band got a few mentions recently on here, I saw them at Guildford Civic Hall around 1972 and they were excellent in such a small venue. from YouTube:- "There will never, ever again be anything like the Man Band. The classic four piece line up of Mickey (RIP), Roger (RIP), Martin and Terry had a musical performance relationship that can only be described as nothing less than telepathic. I can say this because I saw this particular line up (getting on for) 100 times in Britain and the continent over a period of about 2 years in the very early seventies and each performance of whichever tune they played while heavier than hell would always be different from the last time and would always end up perfectly, as it should, and yet they played like it was nothing! Breathtaking! Greatest band line-up I have ever seen or ever will. Long live Man." Surprised to find they are still going, obviously line-up has changed, and are on at the Half Moon in Putney on the 15th March. I'm half tempted.
