Superbowl

  1. They call it a ‘Touchdown’ when they don’t have to touch it down!.

  2. Comparing Rugby to American Football is like comparing MotoGP to Drag racing.

  3. Well that went well… I know the NFL not to everyone’s tastes

I like rugby but I find some of the rules and penalties unfathomable and the commentators rarely explain them.

Personally I can’t stand football and footballers, I hate the artificial diving and the generally pathetic behaviour of the players and fans.

Anyway my next thread will be about my abiding love of baseball o_O

  4. So would you put Rugby league in the same frame? It’s pretty much a variation of rugby that developed into the NFL game.

Oh and what about cricket? Five days play and it’s still a draw?

  5. I was looking mainly at baiting Americans for a laugh. I am not about to criticise our own sports yet. But Rugby League moves fast and the players arent wearing costumes from Fallout 4. Plus they are not accompanied by a loud mouthed statistician nor trying to sell you Christian Evangelicalism at half time. Whilst some wealthy puppet sings some shit they stole from someone who was actually talented. All whilst sporting radioactive teeth.

  6. You don't like it then........:astonished:

  7. No.

  8. Typical US game: way too long. Too broken into bits. Built to sell shit over entertainment.

  9. I'd say that went entirely predictably...

  10. This explains why AF is better than Rugby.:joy: However a baseball thread is most welcome.:)

  11. Americans play Rugby too?

  12. No Americans are biting. They're no fun. Harumph...

  13. The USA are the current Olympic Rugby 15's champions.

  14. Well, we’ll, who’d have thought eh!

  15. Not the NFL hating Rugby League/Union fanboys on here for sure.

  16. Honestly, the game felt like a roller‑coaster and kept me on edge right to the final kick. I love that kind of back‑and‑forth drama, and I get similar thrills watching LaLiga matches; I check stats and live scores on https://rubiscore.com/football/league/laliga-8. It’s a handy way to follow another sport that offers its own excitement when the NFL isn’t on.

  18. You need to tell us that this US title holds since 1924, ie the last time rugby was played at 15 in the Olympics.

I had to look it up! :upyeah::D
