How do these cheap knockoffs compare that are circulating Ebay, now they look decent from the pics and the price is so good I'm tempted but in the back of my head I just feel like its wrong to replace them with this stuff. Has anyone tried them? should i use them as a stop gap to get back on the road asap and get genuine fairings later? any opinions appreciated. And ill get a thread going when I start putting it back together for anyone thats interested!
The 'cheap' sets are okay, but as bradders says, close up you can tell they're not factory. When I crashed my 1098s the members of this very forum stepped up and helped me sort out the damage with genuine parts. Pop a wanted request in and see what happens.
There are some on eBay at the moment of varying quality. Depending on the damage though is repair an option? I couldn't replace mine but was able to get it resprayed for £100.
well ill try and get some photos on here but the front and nose fairings are smashed to oblivion in about 20 pieces and the left side fairing is smashed too, the rest I couldn't probably get resprayed but the tail has a fair bit that's been ground down so that probably wants replacing too :/ Ill drop a request post down and see what people say! Oh io saw some people discussing the Dashboard previously on here, my LCD screen smashed on it and ive had it apart, its so stupid they make you buyt the whole thing for this as replacing that LCD screen is so fricking easy it just pops out and plugs in/out. Has anyone here tried contacting Digitek who manufacture it and seeing if they will sell a screen directly?
I have a set of QB Carbon GRP ones, nose cone, both sides and bellypan, all used but in good condition. They fit OK actually and have the cut outs for lights, stand etc. Black bellypan and red impreg colour, covered in Stoner 07 sticker kit - not sure if they are still in the classifieds, but drop me a PM if you are interested. They would get you back on the road for now and give you a decent a solid set for track in future. I also have a set of OEM plastics in good condition also in the loft. I don't use those either! Bike is now a dedicated track bike for me so no use for either.....
I have a carbon single seat unit if of interest, has light already fitted, couple of scuffs but not noticeable really, £150 if it helps you out.
