What glue or tape to use?

I used a bit of draught sealant tape I have got on the bottom of the garage door,I have put it between the ring and the barrel.
it worked great for about a month but then slipped down and then the bike won't start so I have put a big of super glue between the tape and the barrel.i pinched the idea of you tube

 

I used some of that thin double sided craft tape gubbins.

 

I stuck a carbon tank guard on my 916 using contact adhesive; the kind you put on and leave until nearly dry then stick, I used that because it sticks good and is removable if necessary without damaging the paint.

It's been on for years without any bother but you need to stick it perfect because it won't slide once it's on.

 

You can't expect to hold a steering damper on with glue.................













Use some clear silicone and run a thin bead all round the edge..........
