Can anyone recommend a diagnostic tool that can connect to the bike and decipher errors via an app? Does such a device exist? After getting an error code the other day, it would be handy to have something to take on a trip that would determine whether a visit to a local dealer is needed or not, should a warning come on. Quite why the onboard computer can’t just display what the error is, is beyond me.
I don't know if the error code list in the attachment to this post is still current or applies to your bike, but they are stated to be generic, so might help. Good luck, Tom.
Wow, that is a lot. All you get on the dash is a warning triangle, so what would I need to connect to the bike, to advise what the error is?
In this day and age more than likely. Have to get dealer to do everything.....even enable the bloody heated seat......and try taking off your akra to flog to someone else, no chance
The OBDStar diagnostics tablet now covers the V4 Multistrada, not so sure about the Pikes Peak in terms of suspension differences but does cover the V4S. Also the ability to enable things like aux lights etc. might be a bit limited, you can't really see what it has in terms on enabling accesories without plugging it in. The 1260 Multistrada is comprehensively covered. Oddly, at the time I bought mine there were a few things missing for the earlier 1200 DVT. I think those have been addressed now though. They do seem good with updates to add features and cover later models. Also means you can reset service indicators and read error codes, usually giving you a plain English answer. Though with @bradders' Monster it did give a generic number that required a Google search to find what it meant.
That’s the sort of thing I’m thinking, maybe something a bit more basic, but something along those lines.
