So, I was having a right blitz of a clean out in the garage today as it’s a fekkin mess, no room to move, you even have to step outside to change your mind …and as I was binning loads of old bike mags… ( and one or two “Frankie Vaughan “ ones ) I came across an original 2014 FB mag review of the 899 They voted it winner of the group test and their bike of the year, interesting read in retrospect,…but what made me really think is that you could get all this enjoyment for the princely sum of £12,500 back in the day ..what can you get for that now ???
Approaching a second hand 899 or a KTM 890r. Interesting and not without personal experience but the lower capacity bikes are so much real world fun that I won’t be buying a litre bike any time soon unless it’s an Indian/Harley.
A few months later they did a back to back between a modified 899 (it had full system, carbon wheels, lightweight generator and uprated suspension. and the other bike was a standard 899 with just termi pipes. Mine was the standard bike.
haha I actually quite like the white ones with the red wheels but I could never own a white bike (or car). Was always my issue with the d675r
there's one on AT at the mo, £10.5 K which is amazing what other bikes loose £2K over 10 years? will tne 899s become the 'desired' one on 10 or 20 years? up there with 916s, 888s etc
Not picture looks very wrong but can’t figure out if the magazine have photoshopped it in some way or my rapidly failing eyesight truly is shot to pieces.
It’s a real picture but yeah a tad over exposed. I wish I had the mag that it was in, I got a digital copy of all the images when they borrowed my RS250
