Hi guys looking around at these covers .... with the bigger one do you have to break the chain for it to pass thru ? The one i'm talking about is the one with the guard bit at the bottom.
I'm sure my m8 didn't have to do anything fancy when he installed his race products one. That has the regulatory ACU shark fin toe guard on it and I'm sure it just fixed to the 3 bolt holes on the top of the swinger under the chain runner, then I think he just used double sided pads to secure the bottom, but some people use silicone. It could be different for ones with a built in chain guard at the top, but I doubt it.....someone on here must have one fitted.
Had one years ago, you don't need to do anything, remove the plastic chain guard and the rubber running between the chain and the s/arm, the carbon cover clips under a lip at the bottom of the s/arm and then under the rubber guide, you screw the rubber guard, chain guard back in place and voila. 10 minute job, but the carbon cover is solid i.e. quite inflexible so needs some effort to get it in place.
Fitted my loovely carbon swing arm cover (from carbon king) top quality looks the nuts good value too.
