I haven't tried Urban, but I'm assuming that's the standard settings Indeed, but it's showing PSI and I still can't find it post software update.
I'm 5'10 & 69kg. But have a 33" inseam, so have no issues whatsoever with the height. I run the high seat in the high position most of the time. I test rode a V4S before getting the PP, as there weren't (and still aren't) demo bikes. I find the PP feels pretty much the same, size wise maybe a bit smaller due to the smaller screen, but the handling is much sharper IMO.
I saw a Multi with the lowered seat on Saturday, the fella can't have been much taller than you and didn't seem to have any problems.
Howdy all. So, I’m 6000 km into my Pikes Peak and absolutely loving it. It does everything well. It’s comfortable, very fast and looks fantastic. However, and this isn’t the bikes fault, I’m struggling to find a satisfactory mounting solution for a Garmin XT2. I’ve mounted it with an Iconic mounting system with a touratech locking system. Now I do realise that this is a relatively heavy set up but it shakes and vibrates excessively to my mind. I saw a YouTube video of the Evotech set up. This is fastened to the bike through the 4 screen bolts. Has anyone used the EP Mount and can they comment on whether this may be a steadier solution than the iconic. I’m actually tempted not to use the Garmin at all and just rely on the in built Sygic Nav which I used in Romania and is perfect for point to point navigation.
I’ve got an evotech mount with a Garmin XT, and lock plate (not touratech) and it’s absolutely fine, made of decent thick alloy that users the 4 bolt holes as it’s mounting points so spreads the load a bit I think, only slight issue is the nav sometimes drops down on very bumpy roads on the amp bracket, just adjust it back up again and check the two side hand bolts and it’s fine again, no problem on smooth roads whatsoever
Think the extra weight is causing you issues , take of the toura shackle and you may be surprised . I used a smaller lock that weighed next to nothing .The iconic mount is very good and also well made .
I have used both the Evotech mount and the Iconic, the Iconic is better for me. The Evotech mount is heavy and very sturdy BUT when mounted on a V4S it upsets the airflow for the screen and definitely makes it noisier with some turbulence for me, you may find it OK. this is because it mounts between the screen and the plastic and interrupts the airflow through the screen slot IMO. There is no noise when the Iconic is mounted as it is a bit lower down. Personal opinion but to me it does look a bit agricultural as well, no idea why is such thick steel and so heavy. If you want the Evotech mount let me know.
Question re suspension. I understand that the suspension settings (compression and rebound damping) alter depending on the bike mode selected. Is it also possible to tailor rebound and compression within a set mode? I.e if you were in urban can you then add additional compression damping if you wish?
Yes look in the menus. I presume it the same as the v4S where you can vary front and rear from soft thru to hard. Not possible to alter compression and rebound separately though.
Just sort my Ducati battery charger. Need another for the Suzuki so thought I may as well go down the official route. I can’t help thinking it would be really useful to just plug into the din socket on the dash though.
Mine is just over a year old and coming up for it's 18k service in a couple of weeks, it's been pretty much faultless and with no oil usage. Had slight brake judder under heavy braking, discs were checked and within tolerance, decided to upgrade them anyway to Brembo Serie oro, using EBC HH pads braking is much better and judder free. Happy so far
