Such a pity with guitar skills like that he didn’t produce original material in his own right. But I guess if you need to feed the kids then covers it is.
Chas & Dave are easy to take the piss out of but they know what they're doing and they just well... entertain. Chas goes back a long way as a session musician but got fed up with the 'rock & roll' lifestyle and started to do what he loves. Here's their last performance on Later before Chas died in 2018 and anyone who can get gudgeon in his lyrics is worthy of respect...
massive respect for Dave Peacock. How many people can say they were in a band called The Rolling Stones before the other four imposters rocked up and used the name? My favourite by far :-
A couple of years back there was a concert of theirs on the tele, it may have been part of a documentary, and it was just guys & girls having a drink, a dance & a sing along to some good music. Sometimes music can go up it's own arse of seriousness and there is nothing wrong with cracking night out. I've heard it being said that after a couple of scrumpy ciders the Wurzels are the same cracking night out... as long as you stick to the kissing cider & not the fighting cider.
Here you go - unfortunately I could only find this ropey backstage film of one song of the concert I was talking about. But it does show, perish the thought, people just enjoying themselves.
- Huge fan of Fripp ..... seen him live many times with various band members ... always stunning You don't get any dance routines like with The Shadows though .... no fart jokes either , for that matter ! .... a serious man .... -
