Your comment that the England team have been rubbish for years even though four years ago we were in the final of the World Cup and this time reached the semi-final.I believe such comments are harsh to say the least.
England. Only country in the world to win world cups in football, cricket and rugby Good pub ammo that. As long as you’re in England
Sorry (English trait) but we are predominantly white and English so it is a hate crime to say anything positive about it. Get with the program, man…
At least with the World Cup we see some appropriate scores - some very large differences where much better teams have hammered home large victory scores against weaker teams. Maybe for another thread - I get the feeling that the six nations is a bit "managed". In 2019 we came second in the World Cup but could not beat Scotland or Wales in the Six Nations - drew 38-38 against Scotland and loosing 21-13 to Wales. What obvious nonsense that was, we should win the thing pretty much every time ! Anyway, maybe a discussion for another time
A lot of foreigners would think that New Zealand is largely made up of Barrett brothers but that is not the case. However here is Tim and Neil Barrett in concert…
Shocker, no one saw that coming Congrats, Englands turn tonight for a hammering. Final’s going to be a lot closer, I reckon SA will grind it out…
Actually it was someone else’s comment that I referred to. However I accept the implication was the same. I should have been more accurate and referred to the years between the world cups, which unfortunately haven’t been great. I think it’s fair to say the team has surprised most people and done well to get this far. I did say credit where it’s due but let’s not squabble about it. I really hope England can win tonight but I fear we’ll hit a blockade like we did in the last final.
I was hoping Argentina would manage to put a try across the line. Then that penalty against them for intending to be offside (whilst actually not offside) - or something Not really a betting man but interesting to see the odds offered by the bookies - England 5/1 against for them to beat South Africa. Last visit to the bookies was to bet on Dovi to win the MotoGp title - might make a visit today and put a tenner on England to win - you never know
At least we weren’t home before the post cards like the rest of our ‘must try harder’ neighbours Gerrit up yer!!
£20 placed on England to win !! (£120 potential winnings !!) High roller - like being in Las Vagas or something except a bit more rainy .....
The cool thing about hosting it is that even if you get knocked out, you are not sent home. You just sort of hang around, y’a know.
Nah, wrong logic. I’d have put £200 on a SA win. For one it’s pretty much nailed on and for two you can have a couple of pints with your winnings.
The game no one thought would happen and almost the result no one expected. Well done England, game everything C’mon Kiwis
