  1. ok ,daft question time.Whats the easiest way to change the belts on my 749? I wondered if it could be done with the tank on and plugs in.I presume the horn/crank breather pipe and both belt covers off,in gear and use back wheel to get crank mark aligned,or am i dreaming it could be so simple?

  2. Cheers for that will have a look at your posts, should have checked there myself first, as your posts helped my single seat conversion
Can the top plug be taken out with tank in situ?

  3. Tank comes off easily and while it's off you can have a good look around

  4. The tank does need to come off to remove the plug.
It's not too much bother to get off as RC says, but I find that big bolt to separate the tank and seat pad a PITA.

  5. Big bolt already out from seat conversion
Thought the breathers were a pig ?doesn’t petrol piss everywhere?

  6. nope and you can always drain down the tank first if you had a syphon pump
ive removed a full tank lots and never been an issue
you can do it. you know you want to

  7. Oh yeh I want to learn as much as possible about the bike

  8. I just mark the belts, and pulleys, count the teeth between the marks, mark new belts, put new belts on, no need to turn engine over.
I have a couple of guides I've shared with others

Might want a cam holding tool, but I manage without,
