Unknown Brake Calipers Need Identifying

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Fulvia-hf, May 26, 2024.

  1. I'm on the lookout for a 90's Monster and have found one in my region which might be the one. However this machine is equiped with billet machined brake calipers of a design and brand I have never seen before. They look very cool but can be Aliexpress for al I know. In that case I will give it a pass.
    Who can identify them?

    Cheers,

    William

  2. It's usually the master cylinder that the fake brake lot copy made in chinky China.
That caliper almost looks home made !

  3. If you go to Aliexpress you will see even modern 4-piston radial brake calipers being offered.
Home made seems not to be the case here but limited production maybe.

  4. I would just swap out the calipers for original fitment, it would not stop me purchasing an otherwise viable bike.

  5. Depends on the price. This bike is 1700€, which seems to be the price for a carburated M600 with slightly over 30000km in Italy. Two rebuild 40mm Brembo Oro calipers will set you back 300€. It needs two OEM mufflers, tyres and a service.

  6. Of course it does but that’s where talking to the vendor may yield you a deal if you’re not so happy with the unknown Calipers.

You could ask the vendor if he knows who the manufacturer is?

  7. They may be very well engineered and work as good as or better than stock!

  8. Just found out they are Aliexpress. Among some other parts so skipped this Monster. Just found another M600 dark, a little bit further away but judging by the pictures quite original. It has the sliding two-pot Brembo calipers. Can they be replaced by the 4-pot 60mm calipers by brembo and if so does it need a new master brake cilinder als well?

  9. This is it!
