  1. The Range Rover plate sounds a bit optimistic...

  6. I’d been pondering buying SC11 DUC for my Scrambler, um’ed and ah’ed over it for a year or so pondering wether I wanted to spend £400 on something that’s only really relates to that model of bike, anyway checked yesterday and someone’s bought it so it obviously wasn’t to be

  7. That was fortunate! What you going to spend the £400 on?

Sorry that was harsh, but its rare that I find plates with more than 5 characters appealing.

  8. Out of interest, where is the best place to search for a personalised number plate such as that?

I have been toying with the idea for a while, but not taken the first step yet.

  9. I used SwiftReg

  10. Theres lots on DVLA that end in DUC starting at £250 which includes the £80 transfer fee, which some if not all privately sold do not.

  12. Yeah that’s probably why I pondered on it for so long. As it happens I saw last month on the dvla’s auction site a 5 character dateless plate with my initials, it’s start price was £2k and I assumed it would go way above that and forgot about it. Hammer fell at £2300 (£3k Inc fees) I’d have probably had a go at that sort of price

  15. A mate has WE** PON but with random numbers it just looks daft. He was showing me some online auctions, equally random, and they’re being advertised for thousands, which just seems odd.

  16. If you do see something you like- haggle! Regtransfers for example take the absolute piss with asking price. Give a lowball offer and see what happens :):upyeah:

I think the likes of DVLA are more fixed price. I may be wrong, maybe someone can chime in…

  19. Now that's a number plate!
    No.1

It was the very first car on the island of St.Helena, my father restored it in around 1955.
The picture taken by a friend of my parents, shows my Father driving with my Mother in the back seat of the Austin 7
which was finished in a "baby blue" with natural calico interior by my Mother.
