I received an email last week from Ducati saying there’s another Lamborghini edition on its way. We had Diavel the Streetfighter … what’s next ?
I cant understand why they haven't looked at releasing these upgrade as a kit to retro fit on your own bike or new bike, in a similar manner to the old Pista Kit from the 996 /998 era would mean that more of the kits would get into the hands of the users rather than sat in offices etc.
these paint jobs with a few trinkets are bull for me, and attract the not very switched on purchaser that wants a piece of Ducati action, even in the mindset it'll be worth a load more in the future. to pick up on the point above, I would love to see a V4 base and Pista kit that is aimed at the track day rider compiled by the factory. where performance is the key not bullshit shiny bits. Yes of course all of the correct stuff is available to be sourced by yourself if you have the inclination and time. I guess someone somewhere sees more money being made on the sticker kit specials that stuff for the real rider.
I'd rather see a more restrained 2025 V4 SPS version (white numberboards, gold pinstriping, ful exhaust system plus a paddock stand and a smattering of carbon, not much more). Somehow these models seemed to have more of a tangible added value in the past (in terms of what you were actually getting for your money) and were a permanent extension of the flagship variant range. IMHO a successor to the D16RR is long overdue. That would seem more worthy of the £75K asking price, instead of the price this latest incarnation is demanding. As has been said, a MM93 replica cannot be that far away, which I feel will have a wider appeal. As for the pricing structure, there will surely come a point where Ducati's bubble will burst, in terms of what they believe people will pay. I don't believe the 2025 V4 Tricolore Italia, is a bike that at least for the next 10-15 years is going to go appreciably up in value or represents a sound investment. For that kind of money you'd be better off buying a tatty mid 70's 911, throwing a dust sheet over it and sellling it 5 years down the line, to recoup your money and some.
Could it get any more stupid ? Damn right it can, https://www.piquadro.com/en-gb/products/4-wheel-cabin-suitcase-piquadro-x-ducati. Andy
