  1. I threw my hands up in horror and screamed "replace everything" but I defer to the consensus.

  2. It wouldn't hurt just to dress the tangs on the plates with a file! That outer basket looks very notched, but for me, the test is, does it work OK? If the clutch operates fine, I'd leave it. Depends if a rattle bothers you! :D

  3. If it's working ok ( like mine) leave it well alone.

  4. Thought I'd better update this as I've not been on in ages!

I dressed up the teeth of the clutch plates and so far so good, no noticeable changes but the clutch has never given any issues in operation so I guess that's no surprise. Bike hasn't done huge mileage but I still managed a good few nice rides before laying it up for the winter. Over winter it got a full service including valve clearances (all in spec!) and fresh belts so it's fighting fit and ready to go. I was a bit lax in getting it booked in for MOT so having to wait until the 16th May until I can get seen but I'm sure the wait will be worth it! That being said I might be selling, I'm reducing my number of bikes to just 1 (and the Suzuki project but we won't speak about that one :sob:) and trying to find something that gives me the thrills of the 748 but with a little more practicality for touring or work trips. I've had a GS for the past couple of years and it's been great but could never be my only bike and the 748 is a bit of a pain if I need to travel with more than a rucksack

Hard to tell what everything is worth at the moment but I'd like to get £5k for it based on condition and mileage but I'm open to offers. Will put a proper listing up once it's MOT'd

  6. And here endeth my Ducati journey (for now anyway). Put the bike up for sale on Friday and before I could post it here it was gone! The guy that came to view was mega complementary of the condition of it, I always thought it was pretty good but until you get an independent view of it you never know. It’s certainly cleaner than some of the much newer bikes that I’ve been looking at!

Managed to get a couple of rides on it before selling and I still love the bike, it still puts a huge smile on my face 6.5 years on from getting it but it was just time for a change. It’s been brilliant to own what was a poster bike for me when I was wee (in the best colour too)!

I won’t be bikeless for long, I’ve agreed a price on a 2011 Aprilia RSV4 and pick it up Wednesday. I started off looking at Tuonos but the sports bike bug bit hard and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. It’s got some tasteful upgrades and is mega clean.
