Autodesk Cad Guru?

  1. Anyone out there that can help?

I have a CAD drawing I want to print with the 2d object at 100% scale i.e. actual size.
It won't fit on a single piece of A4.

Is it possible to split the CAD drawing into 2 (might need to be 3?) separate files where each piece will fit at 100% scale on an A4 sheet of paper.
If the files could be exported to a format for easy printing that would be great e.g. PDF format?

    Thanks!

  2. Afterthought..... I just need the to scale outline of the object to assemble and print as a test template ;-)

  3. Adobe Illustrator can potentially do this too. (Read dwg and dxf files):upyeah:
(Unfortunately I don't have a functioning copy atm)

  4. I'd do the drawing scale at 1:1, the print scale at 1:1. I think you could then window-select part of the drawing and in the print setup set it to print 'selection'. Then do again as many times as you need to to get the full print to piece together.

  5. CAD drawings are usually created at full scale, then scaled to fit the paper. If I have chance I can try it at work tomorrow.

What are the overall dimensions of the object.

  6. Thanks.... bit dumb but I have no idea of the size now. It was a project years ago, a steel plate for the rack on my mts1200 made in mild steel to take a magnetic tank bag.
Revisiting the idea for my latest bike.... S1000XR.

  7. Thanks again. Sorted (with a little more help)...

  8. If you were buying that from a laser profile co, they would use your .dwg file

  9. Yes.... I just need a revised CAD drawing for MK2 version for new bike S1000XR).
