Fuel Tank Prop Grommet

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by ck_uk, Apr 22, 2025.

  1. I'm missing the rubber grommet into which the fuel tank prop would sit - any idea what the part number would be for this? I've searched on Stein Dinse but can't find it.

    Fits in this here hole..

  2. The rubber isnt very good. I made a olastic insert which sits in there and holds the tank more firmly. The rubber rips, a bad design.

This doesnt really answer your question though, so I found it for you

  3. Agreed these don’t last which is explains why mine is missing.
A plastic one would be an improvement, what did you use to make yours?

  4. I found tapping in a tyre valve dust cap works perfectly, for those not wanting to go to the great expense :) IMG_5739.jpeg

  5. I made it on my lathe, it screws on from below and has an angled hole in it. I'll get some pics

  6. Found another solution, spotted a bleeder screw cover which was lying around.

Inverted that and it's a perfect fit!

  7. A cheap solution. I took a crappy pic of mine, but it gives you the idea. It's 2 part threaded so is attached underneath too.
