1260 Tps No Values After Reset

  1. I can't tell which bit of work or which modification I've done over the winter that's caused this. But with the bike pretty much finished, I noticed on a test ride today that the tps reset doesn't actually result in values being shown for tyre pressures despite it not throwing any errors and saying the calibration was completed.

I'm not even sure where to start looking for the issue...

Could the aftermarket wheels (oz gass) cause this? Outside of those, everything wheel related (abs rings and sensors) remain untouched.

  2. Aren't the sensors on the back of the valve, inside the tyre. Obvious question but you have removed the valve assemblies from the Ducati wheels and moved them to the Oz wheels? Either that or the batteries in the sensors need changing... Maybe they're sealed for life and you need new ones?

  3. I had mine off to get the wheels powder coated. Both seem to be working fine.

  4. Yep, I know sweet fa when it comes to this gadget then lol. I didn't take the old rubber off the oem rims yet, I assumed it was measured by a tiny wizard in the wiring watching the world go by.

I'll look up the part and order new ones (assuming I can). And I'll likely need to pay ducati to pair or is it possible without the diagnostic tool?

  5. Could be as simple as something like low battery voltage. Andy

  6. The OEM Ducati TPS sensor are in the wheel rim where the valve stem enters, easily damaged when changing tyres, or so I'm told. I use the SyKik system, Wireless Tire Pressure Monitor | Bluetooth Tire Pressure Monitor – SYKIK (cheaper Chinesium products are also available). I have found them to be very good and with the added benefit of giving you tyre air temperatures as well. Useless info but interesting to look at during a fast ride, tyres get really hot especially the rear as it gets all the heat from the Cat blowing onto the tyre. :)

  7. Do you still have the old rims. Could be just a case of demounting tyres on both rims and swapping them over.

Replacement TPMS sensors for the GT aren't cheap at £137 plus VAT per wheel. Rear and front. Not certain but think, to preserve the battery, they're only active when the wheel is spinning. Battery life should be good for 5+ years.

Not sure about pairing replacement sensors. A search of the GT handbook only shows a mention of setting the pressures for the TPMS. Will check the OBDStar spreadsheet for the GT later and edit this post. Checked the 1260 workshop manual and there's no mention of TPMS or, for that matter, the Grand Tour. Maybe there's a supliment for the GT? Can't imagine Ducati producing a complete new manual just for the GT...

  8. I'd assume it's exactly the same as the other models. I've for the old rims and will reuse as those prices are a little steep.
