V2 Track Fairings Query

  1. Hi - in the middle of installing CRC track fairings onto my Panigale V2 and when removing the headlight I noticed a small sensor that plugs into the loom under dash and is fixed to the air intake/headlight unit. Anyone confirm what this sensor is and can it be removed or do I need to fix it to the new Crc air intake? My intial guess was that it would be the air temp sensor but can’t find it in the service manual.

  2. I think from memory it’s the “Piattaforma Inerziale” which I am pretty sure is a tip sensor (I don’t speak Italian). On the Ducati Performance fairings this part is retained so I would do the same with CRC and fabricate a suitable mount to replicate its current orientation.

  3. if its the small black sensor its the air sensor and needs to be plugged in. I usually drill a hole in the CRC duct / scoop for it to fit through and then i put to tiny holes either side so i can cable tie ito the duct / scoop using the screw holes on the sensor

  4. Yeah that’s the one - looks like this. Assume just put it towards the back of the scoop so it’s near enough where it is attached to the scoop under the stock headlight.

  5. Luke put a deposit down on a V2 yesterday and have a trackday at Mugello in August. Looking at track fairings and wondering how you got on with the fit of the CRC fairings. Cheers

  6. IIRC the Ducati v2 1199 Panigale track fairing kit used to include a blanking plug for the atmospheric temperature gauge.
