Any advice please, took the Multistrada (1200dvt) in for its MOT yesterday, first time out since last year, it was misfiring on small throttle openings, ok right at the bottom end pulling away, but rough 2-3k rpm (no warning lights) , would then clear if I gave it full throttle, it was low on fuel, so filled it with super plus for the ride home (thought it might have been old fuel), tried an Italian service to no avail, any thoughts on possible cause? TIA G
Have you washed it recently especially at the front near the exhaust ? They seem to have an issue with HT leads breaking down at the front where they get all the water splash . You might have some that has got past the plug cap seal. Mick
Now that’s a very good point, obviously I washed it before the Mot so the inspector wouldn’t notice the poor rear brake
mine has had the same issue bud, after recommendations to check out the front leads on mine too, I havent replaced them yet but I did remove them to inspect the plugs and then refitted them and im almost sure this silly hiccup has gone so im going to replace the front centre lead for sure but can see how it gets abused right next to the exhaust pipe with the heat and then takes any muck etc from front wheel!
Check the exhaust EVL valve, it may be stuck if the bike has been stood a while, free it off with some penetrating fluid and make sure it opens and closers freely
