Did 280km across Corsica on day 1... wow! I've done this before, but it was many moons ago. Some parts are just utterly amazing, some roads perfect, open, smooth, hardly anyone on them....some not so good, super tight, poor surface...but on the whole an amazing start. Stopped for Pastis and a lunch! It is already too hot for leathers, hopefully it is going to cool down a bit tomorrow.
Did you ferry it into Bastia? Did a road trip last year mostly sticking to the east coast down to the southernmost tip at Bonifacio Crossing the central mountain range looked a little hairy Don’t get caught speeding! Enjoy the trip.
Took the Tuono for its service yesterday at AP Workshop in Tamworth. Not such a great ride to get there and back but stopped at the Piston Club on the way back for a great burger and as an added bonus I have a working rear brake again (yes, I know it won't last )
I never even realised they were there and it’s only 2 miles from me and I use a couple of places on that trading estate.
Fixed my old Sena 10U headset, fits the GT Air which I no longer own. Might adapt it to fit my girlfriends helmet as the intercom in that isn't working any more. The 10U needed a new speaker, £6 for a pair of the right dimensions and impedance from AliExpress. A little work getting the old ones out, they were comprehensively glued into the casings, and then some soldering. Now working as good as new
Thanks! Yes, exactly that...ferry into Bastia, we then headed directly North around 'Cap Corse'...and...I never speed! Oh..and don't inhale either.
Day 2 in motorcycling paradise...if a picture is a thousand words... Been another long, long day, but again amazing. I've been lucky enough to ride in many amazing places, Scotland, The Lakes, California, Oregon, South of France...I do think Corsica is probably one of the best. If anyone needs info, just ask...I can share itineraries and places to stay. (I might ask to join you though ) I've seen very few sports bikes mind you...and I can understand...far too exhausting, especially on the inner mountain roads.
Got the last of the running in miles on the bike finished, up to 720 now. Most of the day was on nadgery white roads, so I’m suffering with my back tonight. Worth it though! The second picture was taken from me lying on the floor trying to stretch my back out!
Great to see a similar journey to ours. Look back fondly on my trip with GF to Corsica. Cap Corse was day #1 for us. Pics below from day #2 as we didn't take many on first day, just us swimming in the sea.
We have done exactly this area today in your photo #2. While the motorcycling is amazing, the landscapes are also something else. At one moment today I was taken by the view.. 'wow..snow on the mountains in the background...so beautiful...oh fuck!...a tight corner'
Is the full system going on? Obviously, 5 minutes after its fitted you’ll be dragged away by the police, beaten senseless, lose your job and your wife will leave you. But are you getting the full system?!
We wound up staying at a hotel on the beach near Cargèse for four nights, just north of Ajaxio. Sailing back to Tulon out of the port at the latter.
Stuck the pani on the abba lift ahead of getting the stand hole sorted this week with a helicoil. While it’s up, I can do a long awaited oil change then get ready for MOT!
