This film inspired me to go and visit the Orkney Isles. First option was to get the train to Aberdeen, stay there for a night or two and then go on the ferry. Train prices to Aber from Cam and Dursley (my local station) are just crazy. So, then I looked at flying. From England, you have to use Heathrow. I would rather lose an arm than do that. The other option is to pay an insane fee to fly to Glasgow and fly from there.

All too difficult for summit that was supposed to be a bit of fun. So the Orkney isles idea is binned. I can get to Spain easier!

And the plan to go to Spain was on hold for a bit, but he first part of that journey was to take the train to Plymouth. Today I decided to do do that Plymouth bit next month. I will try booking the train and hotel tomorrow.

Aren't we supposed to be trying to encourage train travel? So, why is is o madly expensive?

When I worked and had a contact with the university of Stirling, I used to fly from Bristol to Glasgow every week and thought nothing of it.

I may (just may) have got lazy and stupid as I get older.

  15. Metalwork up the stairs and a new rug/runner for the hall. All that I have left to come is a new sofa for the dining/family area..........and that's now due mid June. :)

  16. It helps with the old mental health if you teach a few of those wOts uR bEsT pRiCe m8 time-wasting clowns a lesson by agreeing a knockdown price and then arranging for them to collect the car/bike but giving them a bogus address.

  17. I couldn’t in all honesty put a price to it and I don’t want to MOT it to find out it has tin worm underneath. It passed last year with no advisories but a year can be so cruel to a MX5 and its chassis, hence the 99p auction.

There are more stupid questions asked that are in the listing, examples include.

Does it start and run-yes it’s in the listing.

Do all the warning lights go out- yes refer to the 2 photo’s of ignition on and then the next photo showing you it’s started and ticking over and no warning lights on.

Does it start refer to the above.

How long is the MOT- it’s in the listing runs out 7 May.

I’m sure there will be more before Sunday.

  18. Sunday. Went down to Yeovil - never been there before, to help a lad with a z1000 fit a full akra system - hes owned the bike a few years but never actually done any work on it (already showed him how to change the plugs oil etc etc) so spet the day on my back on a garage floor removing stuck exhaust studs....got it all done bar one sheered stud so hes coming up to me in the near future. Dusted off the RSV4 (not been out on a run for over a year) - literally, dusty. Some air in the tyres and it started pretty well on the button. Never been to Yeovil before so took it easy but on the way home (once past Pensford i know the roads) - the uphill big left hand sweeper i though (before i could see it) [thinking] "ill hit that at about 100 crank it right over and take it like a champ" - flat out down the straight to it and bang on half way up a fucking rusty transit towing a caravan....pikey cunts. Even had the orange light on top bolted to a rusty roof rack.
