Having just restored my not so much used 749 to almost new I think it's wise to have some breakdown cover, not that I don't trust my resto work . Interested in any recommendations, it's only for the Ducati (car is already covered under manufacturers warranty). Thanks in advance.
I use Startrescue.co.uk Only called them once but they were good. I waited about an hour. The collection was in a van specifically for bikes and the driver was a biker. They do sub the work out.
I did look at that but they're not exactly detailed in what they are providing. I'll look again though.
I use personal cover through green flag, covers me for any vehicle I'm driving / riding, also have proper trailer cover , unlike AA who have a length limit ( beware ! I've been caught by that with a bike trailer, the AA refused to come out )
I have AA through my NatWest account for all cars and bikes, when my 1299s did Ducati things they came out in 45 mins and he was super careful strapping the bike took real care. The trailer is really cool folds out and converts from a car dolly trailer, all really well thought out. So they got my vote (and free for me lol) obviously the comment about trailer cover is an issue if you need that.
Start rescue is pretty good , been rescued a few times abroad my them. Used my phone to find me in the middle of Spain once so it Seems to do what it says on the tin.
I broke down on the side of a busy duel carriage way in Wales on the way to Isle of Man for the TT. I was with the RAC. They turned up in about 90 minutes and soon worked out they weren’t going to fix it so called for recovery. This was about 15.30. I was still there at 23.30 even though they said several times they would be there “very soon “. Eventually got my daughter’s partner to pick me up in his van Needless to say I didn’t renew my membership! Managed to get home, put my green lane bike in the back of my van and get to the rearranged ferry crossing the next morning
I know it's it's rough round Wales, but i've not experienced combat there? They can all be as bad as each other, AA told me to to fix my partners mini as they were busy policy cancelled. RAC couldn't get out to me, managed to nurse the bike home from Wales, i'll not renew as the premium is now £50 a Month and they don't cover vans.
