Hi all, Totally new to Ducati life (loving it) and forums are a new thing to me, so let me know if I've missed a older thread about this. I'm a few weeks in and learning a lot on here just generally trawling through the mass of information. I'm struggling with a clutch master cylinder for the 94 900ss (remote reservoir type) Loads of really useful information on the slave cylinder (was leaking badly, replacement on order) But I'm struggling to find a consensus on the master cylinder. It's also weeping and I just want to start fresh with the master and slave at the same time and get out while the weathers good! I'd love an adjustable lever type. I'm not sure if I have to stay remote reservoir type or if a coffin style will be OK? but I have noticed the choke lever is mounted to the master cylinder. do other type accept these screws? or do people move / adapt the choke operation/ mounting? and finally is it a Ducati dealer kind of thing or is there a brilliant independent parts supplier out there I should be considering. Many Thanks in advance.
You can still get rebuild kits for the clutch slave from the likes of Stein Dinse etc - if you strip it for a look and inspect the bore and it's good, then a rebuild kit should be fine. https://www.stein-dinse.com/en/search-1-19590023B-.html I've never bought an aftermarket slave but the go to is usually Oberon and they're made in the UK so that's good. https://www.oberon-performance.co.uk/ducati-clutch-slave-cylinder New clutch master also from SD: https://www.stein-dinse.com/en/search-1-10506510-.html Or search these for a rebuild kit if the bore is fine: powerhouse.uk ducatipaddy.com gutsibits.co.uk
Thanks for the links, I've ordered a new slave as the bore looked ragged at best! I'm hoping to have a proper look at it over winter and see if a hone and rebuild works for a spare. The master is my sticking point. I could go down rebuild route and again may do this over winter. But would love to get up and running without rebuilding only to find it needs more attention!
Thanks again, the links got me in the right direction. I had looked on Ebay and searching again knowing some of the proper numbers has come up trumps. Delivered in a couple of days. I think I got to many variables floating around my head and got nervous of ordering the wrong thing! " Brembo 13mm Black Lever Clutch Master Cylinder 10506510" did the trick when I got away from searching 900ss!! £131.00 for info.
