Do I understand the latest Senas will operate on EITHER Bluetooth or mesh. Is it selectable on the head set?
Yes, you can opt for either but bluetooth alone is much more restrictive in terms of range. Mesh is a good option and you can select a group to restrict comms to select riders or open, which as the name suggests, lets anyone in range communicate. Wave intercom on the 60S is limitless as it uses a cellular network
Ahh, thank you for that. I propose to buy a shoei neotec 3 with fitted sena comms. I don’t talk with other riders, but need the facility to hear my garmin zumo xt, and off course my better half, riding pillion with an older Cardio interphone sport which is blue tooth. So from what you say it would be good to go?
Oh dear. I’m not up on this tech stuff at all. I always thought Bluetooth was Bluetooth. Maybe that’s why I haven’t been able to find out definitively before?
Just realised I've been an idiot, I am of course looking at the Sena 10C EVO, not the older PRO. The 50C is out of my price range and not available used yet. Any comments from personal experience would be appreciated. I do like the thought of having the Camera and communications in one unit rather than separate.
I ended up buying a Sena 10C Evo anyway, brand new old stock from ebay, but have now been waiting a week for it to arrive. I'm looking forward to having a play with it when it arrives.
My Sena 10C Evo turned up on Friday. I've set it all up OK. It connects to my phone so if I do have my phone turned on whilst I'm out on a bike I could answer a call if I wanted, and I can now get the voice instructions from the TomTom. The camera appears to give a good image, although more on that in a bit. To answer some of the queries raised in this thread. Yes, with my Simpson bandit helmet on a flat surface the helmet does sit on the bottom of the Sena mounting bracket: But that's what the foot on the bottom of it is for and I'm not going to get precious about damaging a rubber foot designed to take any damage rather than the bracket itself But, I am a little disappointed with the lack of adjustability in the bracket. This unit can only really be fitted on the Left hand side of a helmet as the image from the camera can't be flipped 180deg and the Antenna would be below the bracket foot on the other side. On my Bandit the tinted Visor slider is on that side so I've had to fit the Sena forward of it: Which means the camera is poiniting around towards the Right hand side: The camera is quite wide angle, so the field of view is acceptable, but definitely of course bias towards the right. Neither the bracket or lens are adjustable in that orientation so I'll have to see what I can do at some point.
