I’m sure you have probably seen the press release at the end of last year regarding this particular bike. It looks fantastic I think you will agree. It’s a track based version of the F3 RR and is only going to be produced in a low numbers, 300 worldwide apparently. Speaking with the dealers of which there aren’t many in the UK you’ll be unsurprised to know there are I understand circa. 300 dealers world wide all of which are in theory getting one bike. MV’s website says there are 10 dealers in the UK, however I understand some of those are token gestures to the brand and don’t offer any tangible support. This means that rather than each dealer in the UK getting one bike, a few of them might get a couple or three, however, still only 10 coming to the UK. That’s my understanding of it. The bike will be €34k in Europe and probably £30k in the UK as there has been no official price release in the UK as yet. I would be interested to get opinions as to whether you think the bike is special enough to be desirable in the UK on wide scale (as wide as it can be at that price that is!)?
Hugely overpriced…. Honestly. Hugely. i had a 2020 MV Agusta F3 (Euro 4) and absolutely adored it, but they aren’t built ‘special’ like a Ducati is. Lots of Japanese bike type fixtures and fittings. Probably nicer on this one but obv you pay for it. I’d also bet my life it’s nowhere near 160hp, mine was quoted at 140hp but it felt weaker than an 899 all through the revs.
Here is my 2014 RC. It’s a missile, but only after new forks, rear shock, brakes, headers, subframe, blipper and mapping. Cost? £16k. no one will take their £30k garage queen on track.
Remember phoning up about the Superveloce Oro when it was announced, fortunately they were all allocated which saved me £38K on a limited edition. Probably dozens of MV "limited editions" at the bottom of Labour's 22 billion black hole.
honestly, no I don’t mate. MV have got terrible history with 6 month ‘specials’ which tbh Ducati have got really bad for as well. It will be a lovely bike, but it won’t be special enough. personally I think if you can get a deal on a F3 RR and spend some money on a better rear shock and steering damper kit it will be a lovely bike and as capable as the comp. also, light wheels are great but the handling is push bike like already on the f3, I imagine with carbon wheels it would be scary twitchy. this was my standard bike, it was brilliant.
Mates got the original 675 F3 and it is a beautiful thing to look at and goes like stink for a little bike but bits literally drop off it whilst riding.
They are great bikes especially the Euro4 on and then the 2020 onwards with more electronics and colour tft dash. Personally I don't like the later fairing with integrated aero but they work if track riding is your thing. If you go that way like many have said on here you'd be much better buying a base model and creating your own upgraded model for a fraction of the price. If you go that way let me know I have a set of gold superveloce wheels still in their boxes!
I seriously considered an MV before upgrading from a V2 to the V4S last year - I took two out, F3RR and Superveloce and both just did nothing for me, no buzz and didnt feel like it should for the price. After speaking to a few people, the apparent lack of dealers and even more lack of parts availability if anything goes wrong was the decision breaker, so went back to the Ducati option. Personally, if I wanted a proper sports bike right now rather than 200hp superbike, I'd be looking for a late 24 V2 like the end of series special, or potentially a Bayliss if a good one came up. Sadly the new V2 being down on power compared to the previous one (Personally havent ridden one, told they are good though)
I have a Street TRiple RS, 1299S and a Tuono Factory so I'm covered for most things. The F3 Competizione was a bit of a punt, I thought I might be able to move it on. I was excited by the fact that I had actually managed to secure one as I was told only 10 were coming to the UK. Turns out if you want one, not all 10 have sold and just ring any MV dealer and they will get you one!! So not that desirable. Think I have made a mistake. I've paid a deposit and Italy will not refund it so do I buy it, or just walk away....
If the deposit was £500 , walk away. If it's 50% of the purchase price, that's a different matter . I've had two new MV's and loved them both , but wouldn't buy a new one now.
Oh jeez. I would advertise your deposit on ebay... perhaps you can claw a bit back from someone who's about to buy one?
I’m sure you could get out of it, I have with Ducati in the past, or use the deposit against another MV which they have massive reductions on at the moment, probably a good reason for deposit back too !
Ouch! I was talking to a mate about MVA the other day and we came to the conclusion that many of their bikes are (by numbers produced) limited editions…… I’d still give body parts for a Superveloce Oro though.
I’d still give body parts for a Superveloce Oro though.[/QUOTE] The Bike Specialist have one for sale for £22999:00 and they’re renowned for being expensive. How much were they new, someone must have thought a good investment back in 2020. They also have the Agostini for £30k which was £45k new I believe !
