Went for a group ride for my birthday yesterday, absolutely perfect weather for me, although some found it a bit too warm. 30 miles, with a fantastic Scottish egg at Compton McRae, Semley, Wilts
Always fancied touring the Scandi region, had a route in mind to take in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvian, Lithuania then back through Poland, Germany etc. was going to nip to St Petersburg but that’s off the menu forever now. Still chance except the Mrs doesn’t like flying nor ferries, so a bit stuck lol
St Petersburg is a nice city, although I only spent 24 hours there. Ive visited Sweden and Norway a few times but not traveled. The Arctic Rally starts in Copenhagen and goes to the Nordkapp, I’m looking forward to it.
I may get chance yet, i'd have only visited St Petersburg for a day or 2 a most not the end of the world not being able to go plenty more elsewhere to see. 27 switchbacks gulp
Another 50 miler today. While the weather is good I'm trying to get two in a week at around this milage. Gives me about enough recovery in between, without feeling too battered for the next.
80 miler today, the standard abysmal drivers of cars and motorcycles hard to split who did the most close passes. May they have slow punctures and be left stranded in the rain in mid Wales with no phone phone connection. Bunch of C u next Thursdays. Managed to ride a couple of 20%, fairly fast on the out slower back due to a headwind most of the way back.
