My 899 is having its 15,000 mile service next month. Anyone had theirs done with this mileage and did valves need adjusting? Cheers.
My thoughts exactly Have some magnesium to go on as well. Plus a new c/f rear wheel if it clears customs in time.
Had my 15,000 done a while ago, £715 if I remember rightly? That long ago now, but I think he said they’d adjusted a couple but not by a great amount
hello chaps my desmos coming up, does anyone know if the lower radiator has to come off to access the front cylinder? If so has anyone changed the radiator, mines got a few dings, there's ones on Ebay for about £130 (new) , a lot less than £420 for a ducati one, has anyone tried one out or can recommend where to get one weather looking good for tomorrow so i'm a goin' a spankin'
Yes, the system has to be drained and both rads removed. One of the reasons the Labour is so much is due to all the stuff that has to be removed to get access, hence the suggested 8hr labour time on a Panigale.
I have a 959 and had the top rad swapped for a no Ducati one when it got it, rizuma I think it was and been fine as a track bike. Have put rad guards on since to avoid the same issue this time round
My 899 bottom rad leaked at the side. No damage from any object hitting it at all. Mate’s bottom rad on his Tricolore 1199 went in exact same place. Again no foreign object hit it. Grrrrrrr
blot did you put in man OEM rad or an after market? ill probably have a go at straightening the fins on mine and Ebaying it
I put a aftermarket Chinese one from eBay on the bottom of my 1199 after the original one started leaking on the bottom left corner when sitting on the bike, No damage to the radiator it was more like a weep from a fracture where it was welded,, Chinese one still going strong 6000 miles later
@quik thats exactly where ours went too. Crap weld or crimp. @southlondonCBR A new Ducati one was put in. Just south of £400. Bloody rip off. Need to send the old one off to see if it can be fixed. Of all the bikes I’ve owned and put more than 30,000 miles on; only Ducati rads have failed.
so i had the desmo done a few weeks ago, 400 miles in and now the oil light is on and an abnormal tapping from the front cylinder. runs starts fine etc, but got to be honest getting bit sick of ducati ownership now, i have spent £3K at least over the last few years its dented any confidence or trust in the bike, i was loosely planning to go up to wales next week, no way now

ha, cheers thought about chopping it in, its been picked up by the guy that did the desmo, i might ask if he wants to buy it as they trade bikes too, but id want 7K minimum. and the only bike id repalce it with with be a newer low milage V2 with the akrapovic as i was pulled over a guy on a RC51 pulled up to help and he said yeah, they are trouble but they are so beautiful

Mine did the same leak, found out all the coolant hose clamps were loose. After tightened them all, no leaks since then.
the internals of the radiator on my Multistrada failed when the bike was six years old. To their credit, Ducati UK supplied a new one FOC, so I only had to pay a couple of hours of dealer time to fit. Dealer’s comment was that Ducati source components like that from China (the only things they now make in-house are camshafts), so the Chinese sourced aftermarket ones are probably from the same production line, just without the Ducati tax being added.
