916 916 Radiator Position

  1. Hi all, I'm new to 916's and trying to figure something out.
Basically the left side fairing (aftermarket) hits the lower corner of the radiator well before the fairing meets the centre piece, I'm assuming it's the panel that is wrong.
Is this normal looking for the position of the radiator?

  2. Hi @M nine

That looks fairly genuine to me on those pics.

  3. 90's Italian precision.
I should think the rad cover gauze must restrict air flow quite a bit, it's very narrow.

  4. Well it's work for 80,000 miles so far.

  5. Just looks really narrow, didn't realise it was as it should be, there isn't any on my 996

  6. @Guillaume69 Cheers mate, these panels are old fibreglass reproductions so it makes sense they don't fit
They are a bit beat up so will only be on as long as it takes to find something better.

  7. The radiator mesh is only zip tied on so assume a previous owner sourced it themselves from somewhere

  8. Yup, most probably an aftermarket panels related issue. Do you happen to know someone with OEM panels in your area to test fit them and see if there’s any difference ?

Finding good used OEM panels requires a bit of patience these days. And possibly a bit of cash too.
