Has anyone tried Ashwagandha tablets? They are meant to help calm your nervous system, on Saturday I’m embarrassed to say I had a massive panic attack which at first I thought was a heart attack and it was also infront of the police (who walked off and left me by the way and my wife came home and found me gasping for breath on the bedroom floor) to make it worse. I’m not sleeping either as you can tell from the time I’m posting this I’ve bought some to try anyway so I’ll be the Guinea pig.
2 tablets every day...for months and months. It helps, but only as a part of the management of "things". Make sure you check actual active content of the capsules as there are loads of scam sellers.
Brilliant, I went for a brand with good reviews , it says one 1000mg tablet a day so I’ll try that for starters. The magnesium I’ve been taking for months isn’t doing anything but it was worth a try. Thank you again TRM for your valuable help.
Yes I use them twice a day. TBH I can’t say I’ve noticed much difference but I’ve got a lot going on so that may be me. Am staying away from booze for as long as possible to see the effects. Likely positive so will reports back. Am determined to make some lasting changes to my lifestyle.
I’ve hardly drank in a very long time now and it’s makes very little difference to my anxiety levels to be honest but we all react differently so hopefully it improves things for you.
My daughter wrote and produced a music video on the topic. You're not alone to want to get those monsters out of your head. One of the shorts: https://youtube.com/shorts/cp8w7iSpXAs?si=Lcjnmo-NXGf52Hkf
I can relate, mate. I dealt with anxiety and depression for years and honestly, the booze was just adding fuel to the fire. Cutting it out wasn’t easy, but over time things started to feel a bit more steady. I explored other options alongside quitting alcohol. I worked with this medical cannabis clinic here in the UK to try low-dose oil for the anxiety and sleep issues. The difference wasn’t overnight, but it helped take the edge off without the rollercoaster I got from drinking. Everyone’s journey’s different, but if you’re thinking of trying something outside the usual meds, they made it easy to get real advice without any pressure.
I have found that hangovers last longer as I get older, so I just don't get pissed any more. I guess the system can't cope with that level of abuse. Nothing wrong with a couple of pints or the odd glass of wine.
i've just finished the 2025 release "Neighbourhood Watch" film and it certainly gave me a lift, and i feel it might belong here. I hope it might do the same for someone else.
We've just had a big family party on Saturday night, I tried the 00 Guiness, quite a convincing flavour but you really don't want more than two whereas two pints of ordinary Guiness would lead to two more and beyond. Even at low levels alcohol is seriously addictive and ruins your judgement. Didn't have a hangover though.
