Renewed annual travel insurance policy today, last years claim made no difference. Checked this with broker who informed me that travel insurance doesn't work that way. I addition to an older pre-existing medical condition already on the renewal I had to just declare last years broken leg which was part of my claim for surgery in France to plate it plus, hospital stay, large prescription and repatriation after my off last June. This had no bearing on the premium as it was more than 4 months since the break, I wasn't booked to see a consultant about it and I don't have osteoporosis. Something of a result. So I'm now covered for next months trip to Dolomites and any other trips over the next 12 months.
A couple of days in Paris, my favourite city anywhere. Saw lots of the greatest works of art ever in Musee d’Orsay, then nice meal in a cafe followed by a couple of beers in a tiny bar next to Pont Neuf before watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at 10pm. Not yet visited anywhere with the buzz this place has.
That’s the most civilized broken leg aftermath I’ve ever heard of. Surgery, repatriation, and still no premium hike? I need your broker’s number
They probably on the beach as we speak, those blue mosaics make me come out in a sweat everytime someone asks me for installation.
Trust me, the aftermath generally wasn't civilised. The operation was well executed and pretty pain free. Got to say the French surgeon, team and Hospital in Gap were very good. Well practiced in orthopaedic issues due to proximity to ski resorts, twiddling their thumbs in the summer months. I might be a bit strange but I quite enjoy hospital stays... I just relinquish control and go with the flow. The worst bit being the epidural, they didn't get it right the first time around and had to try again. I'd say an equally depressing part was having to inject myself with anti coagulant for eight weeks or so, never relished that daily ritual. Self repatriation via Easyjet from Geneva was 'entertaining'. According to the broker, Carole Nash, travel insurance, or at least their underwriters, don't consider previous claim history as a factor when renewing a policy. Any recent significant injuries or existing medical conditions need to be declared though. In my case the pre-existing condition (already on the renewal) and the injury from last year. Boken bones, unless in the last four months or you're still receiving treatment/aftercare for, shouldn't be a factor. My pre-existing condition, diverticular disease, does load my premium as a significant flare-up, or peritonitis which is a result of a consequential perforation, could land me in hospital.
Tearing out what little hair I have left. Put my house and car keys down somewhere in the house yesterday and still cannot find them. Logic says, as the car was on the drive and locked and I got in the house, they cannot be anywhere else but no idea where Andy
Once you find them down the back of the sofa buy a few Air tags or Galaxy smart tags. Bought a pack of the latter after my girlfriend lost my car keys whilst I was in hospital a couple of years back (thankfully finally found by a member of the public and handed in to the police). I can now locate my car, house and bike keys easily. They're also useful placed in hold baggage when travelling.
Brain in gear, retrace your steps and …….. voila ! I was packing the folding camper for Silverstone yesterday and as I opened up one of the bed ends, my keys fell out. What a numbnut Andy
Went out for a short run as the weather was so good. On the return leg the bike lost power and started to backfire. Pulling in the clutch it stalled and refused to turn over, bearing in mind I was in the fast lane of a busy three lane 50mph stretch of road. Luckily for me there was a parked police speed trap van nearby so everyone was watching their speed, which helped when I had to push it back along the slow lane to where the police was parked. Being trapped by the busy road with no foot access I called the RAC whose automated voice informed me to send them an email requesting help. I then called Hunts Motorcycles who promptly sent out a collection van. The bike is currently with them being investigated Thanks to all the very helpful lads at Hunts (Yamaha) dealership. I thought the Stop sign was quite appropriate
Sorry to hear that. Hope it's sorted soon. The the lack of a sympathetic emoticon, 'dislike' doesn't really cut it and it's bad form, is something lacking on this site.
Listening to Absolute Rock, I found out that the words ass & drug are bleeped out in Nickelback's Rockstar. They'd certainly have had to bleep out my response to such f*ckwittery!
Well yesterday really but new to me ST4S Öhlins shock serviced and just installed into the ST2 Today was just shitey jobs at the caravan site.
Thats been bleeped out on that song for a few years now, so stupid considering you can hear the word drugs mentioned on the news etc every day.
