  1. Ooo nice... and was that also accompanied by a lovely gear whine too?

  2. I still run straight cut primary's on all 3 of my seriously tuned Ducati's, any extra noise has never bothered me.
On my little 250 Desmo I even run straight cut bevel gears and I would on my 900, if I could find them or somewhere to make them for me.
I'm more bothered with the performance gains than any extra noise.

  3. Updates so far. It’s being pieced together slowly with parts from Mdina and a few other places. It’s coming together.
It’ll be going off for a custom exhaust soon and then wired up with a motor gadget blue and a few “restomod” parts.

  4. I fitted a pair of those EBC discs to my 900SS back in 2019. As it's not my only bike I haven't covered that many miles on it, I've been over to the Isle of Man 3 times riding from Cornwall, so it's probably under 5,000 miles.
However one of the EBC's is already warped. My OEM cast iron discs lasted a lot more than 100,000 miles.
That's twice* now I've tried EBC's, but I've learnt my lesson now and won't be trying anymore of them.

*I fitted a set of their Race discs to my 851 and they didn't last 2 years before warping.

  5. That’s annoying isn’t it. I like the look of them compared to the stock style ones but being a 4 bolt I could find replacements in standard form. I’ll keep an eye out though

  6. Here's a link to the ones I've replaced the crappy EBC's with.
I'm already running one of Carlo's floating but drilled discs on my little 250 Desmo.

Floating Brake Disc 280MM | Motofficina Leoncini

The EBC replacements actually weigh more than the OEM Cast Iron items, even though they've got alloy centres.
The Leoncini discs are quite a bit lighter than either of them, even though they aren't drilled.

  7. Looking good - I'd be interested to know who you'll be using for the custom exhaust, 2 into 1, high level or close to OEM?

Chain might need adjusting mind.... :D

  8. Haha yeah the chain is currently just sat in place and not adjusted.

I’ve emailed Raysons in Rochdale and going for a left side shotgun style exhaust. Scrambler style.

  9. For the Cagiva V-Raptor I could only get EBC replacement discs and never had any trouble with them. Although they didn't last long when paired with their excellent double HH pads.

Good lord, I don't know how you managed to get > 100K miles out of the discs. Mine were down to 5 mm after 50K km and I'm most definitely not a late great braker. Skimming them to remove the 20 years of garage rust would have taken them close to if not beyond their wear limit.

Same here, I couldn't find anything other than the EBCs and as you say they do glam up the front end.

  10. Duly noted.... I may well be looking them up when my V-Raptor resto (ever) gets to that point.
