Hi all - looking for a replacement tank for my 2021 v2. If anyone knows of a bike being broken or anyone that has a spare even if a little damaged please message on here. i have found numerous available for the 959 and I wondered if anyone had fit a 959 tank to the newer v2? I know the fairing fixings are missing but other than that does it bolt straight on? thanks
Straight fit other than the fairing fixings. I have heard of people cutting the brackets off the damaged tank and tack welding them onto the 959 tank but it’s probably not really necessary. They do turn up for the v2. I sold one myself last year.
Cheers - just found one for a street fighter v2. Looking at oem parts codes they are the same apart from last two letters which I assume is a colour code? Any one confirm or tell me that it won’t actually fit? Thanks
Yeah. That looks perfect. Here’s a shot of a tank off a v2 I repaired and sold last year. I wanted to see the fairing mounting brackets and they look the same to me. The tank badge is easy to remove and replace too.
Thanks for your help - that tank repair looks mint - think mine is a little beyond a bit of filler but I’ll see when I get it off. Went for the streetfighter tank - will update once installed
