1260 Screen Suggestions

  1. Hi all another post sorry any suggestions on screens I’m a shot arse lol have the standard screen fitted and the top of the screen always seems to be in the line of vision it measure 520mm in height and I have a carpuride fitted above the clocks I think a 445 mm will just cover it has anyone fitted that size screen or have you gone for the touring screen but they look massive thx in advance

  2. From my lanky 6'2" experience, the design of the mulitrada produces ungawdly windbufferting. So for me the shortest screens have always been the way to go. Not that I want to diswade you from semi-still air, I found that in rain the vortex's formed around the edge of the tall screens & threw more rain & sleet into my face.

    Where you based?

Is the 1200DVT/Enduro screen hole pattern the same as 1260? If yes, I have several screens not been used.

  3. Im in Wigan Lancashire I’m thinking along the lines of a shorter screen I’ve come off a Fireblade so the wind isn’t really an issue you have to lie on the tank to get behind the screen on them lol

  5. I'd strongly suggest the PUIG sports screen, it's shorter than OEM but still provides cover and should not sit in your eye line.

I've used this screen for a while and love it, I too am a lanky 6ft+ runner bean and still found it gave a vast improvement over OEM. Outside of that, the only other screen I like to run is the pikes peak very short, carbon fibre screen. Which I use for shorter day rides.

I have 6 different screens in the garage (not including the above two), all failed miserably in my testing, both with and without the 3D printed spacers or iconic screen spacer mount.

  6. Thx freshage that’s the one I’m looking at I do have the iconic spacers fitted also so I think that’s the one I will go for cheers

  7. The Pikes Peak screen is too short for the Carpuride W702, it'll stick out of the sides. The Puig sport screen, as suggested by @freshage works well for me. I'm 6' and relatively slender.

I do use mine with Iconic screen spacers.

  8. Thank you that looks great just whether to get light smoke or dark decisions

  9. I think, speaking for myself, I'd find dark too dark for use in the upper position.

Usually ride with the screen in the lower position unless on the motorway, or for longer stints on A roads.

  11. Puig light smoke on mine too, I may fit a little deflector on top at some point as it’s not perfect but much better then the standard screen with no buffeting behind, just feel it could be a tiny bit higher as I have it fully raised all the time and I’m far from a tall lad at 5ft 6!!
