Yes a week ago now I listed my Ducati Monster Dark 620ie on two sales sites here in Bulgaria this week will also add it to FB Market and another sale site if I can get the darned thing to take it that is. A week ago I rode it the 100km to go look at a Triumph Trophy 900 of 1997 vintage it was well presented, clean and no obvious scratches or marks that I spotted and after some discussion a deal was agreed. Hope to pick the bike up tomorrow or Friday just waiting on it being serviced and new tyres being fitted. Of course it's a completely diffeent beast to the 620ie Monster older too but it only has 39,000km on it the Monster was low mileage too at 6,677 mile when I got it she now shows just over 10,550 miles. I now have to get off my butt and get fitter and bring my strength up as there is no way I can pick the Trophy up if it goes over doing so for the 620 is hard enough, yes we went over on the grass, stones and mud on the track into the village center after the rains, no damage just annoying and showed me how unfit I have become over the last few years. BTW there is no concrete, tarmac, loose or fixed stone or even gravel to the proprties entrance for about 100m then you have a choice of loose stone, stone cobbles, of part cobble part mud with the ecent heavy rains the loose stone up the hill has become very loose indeed the Monster squirms all over especially whe coming down. My wife's 620ie is still going strong after 22 years of ownership. I do find it a lot more manageable in terms of weight compared to my own bike, but I do appreciate that it is all relative. Have to say, even after all this time, it is a far more competent bike for city commuting and shorter journeys, than my own choices of machines historically. I love it's simplicity and I've always been a sucker for the exposed trellis frame, which was and I believe still is, an iconic design feature.
I am not saying it's no good especially for local and a quick blat around but I am tending to go on longer rides exploring the area and region now 49 years ago it might not have seemed uncomfortable but today it's darned painful for extended rides hence the sports tourer option. Plezier
